Making a difference
The Student Volunteer Centre (SVC), the Students’ Union volunteering department, works with over 100 organisations spanning local community groups, national charities and international organisations like Shelter and Oxfam.
We offer opportunities with all kinds of projects in the local area, across the UK and even overseas. Each year, more than 1,000 student volunteers are involved in a range of initiatives. So, whatever your skills and interests, you will have no problem finding a challenge to suit you – or if you have an idea for a new project, we can give you the necessary support to get it started.
There is much to be gained from volunteering, during your postgraduate studies. As well as making a difference in the community, you can develop new skills, widen your experience, enhance your CV, make new friends, and have a lot of fun.
