Lakeside, The University of Nottingham’s public Arts Centre, is based on University Park campus, and has rapidly established itself as one of the region’s most exciting arts venues. Comprising five distinct venues, the centre hosts regional, national and international work as well as conferences:
- The Djanogly Art Gallery is internationally renowned for its diverse and high-quality programme which ranges from historical exhibitions to innovative new work
- The Djanogly Recital Hall is one of the UK’s best small concert halls. Its superb acoustics and informal ambience provide the ideal setting for an exciting range of classical and early music, plus acoustic jazz
- The DH Lawrence Pavilion houses two galleries, the Wallner and the Weston; visual arts and education workshop spaces; and the 225-seater Djanogly Theatre - offering a lively schedule of drama, dance, contemporary and roots music, music theatre, cinema, literature events, and comedy
- The Wallner Gallery exhibits contemporary work by local and regional artists
- The Weston Gallery stages a programme of archival material relating to regional culture and history
With two excellent cafés, and several craft cabinets featuring original works for sale by leading craftmakers, Lakeside Arts Centre is the ideal place to take time out, unwind and experience the best in visual and performing arts.
