School of Clinical Sciences

The School of Clinical Science's translational research attracts significant amounts of research income and covers a diverse range of medical and surgical disciplines. Research:

  • ranges from laboratory work to clinical and epidemiological studies
  • is organised around research groups, research centres and Biomedical Research Units (BRUs) in respiratory disease, gastrointestinal and liver disease, and hearing research

We have close collaborations with NHS colleagues and our research aims to efficiently translate scientific advances into innovations in patient care. We have strong links with the Institutes of:

  • Clinical Research
  • Infection, Immunity and Inflammation
  • Neuroscience
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics
