School of Biosciences

The School of Biosciences is one of the largest and strongest of its kind in the UK and provides an ideal environment for postgraduate study with excellent career prospects. The school has consistently achieved high ratings in independent assessments of teaching and research:

  • the Quality Assurance Agency rated our teaching as excellent (23/24)
  • the Research Assessment Exercise 2008 ranked the school top in the UK for research power in the areas of agriculture, veterinary and food sciences
