Research opportunities in the School of Graduate Entry Medicine and Health

Research within the School is co-ordinated through the Institute of Clinical Research (ICR). There is an emphasis on clinical and translational research, spanning molecular mechanisms through to clinical trials. The School enjoys excellent links with the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (we still have links to the DRI) and Primary Care for patient-centred research. There are opportunities for interested students to undertake laboratory or clinical projects on key research themes and to receive supervision from a range of clinical and non-clinical academic staff. Research within the School is funded by the Biological and Biotechnological Sciences Research Council, British Heart Foundation, Health Technology Assessment, Action Medical Research, Kidney Research UK, amongst others. Academic staff include basic scientists, clinicians and health professionals.
