Earn while you learn

One of the ways you could help fund your course is by working part-time alongside your studies or in a temporary role during vacations.

Not all courses will allow you to do this so you should check with your academic school before considering opportunities.

If you are an international student, according to UK legislation, you may undertake paid work while studying in the UK, 20 hours per week in term-time and 40 hours per week during vacations. Find out more on the International Office website.

Unitemps

Part of our Careers and Employability Service, Unitemps is the University’s recruitment agency for part-time and temporary work. Unitemps can help you find part-time or temporary work on campus and in the local area.

Tutoring and teaching

If you are a PhD student, you might be able to take advantage of opportunities to tutor or teach undergraduate and masters students in your area. Your school or department will be able to advise on this so please contact them for more information.

Other on-campus opportunities

Our Student Ambassador scheme gives students paid opportunities to take part in open days, campus tours and local school visits.

The Students’ Union also recruits twice a year – visit their jobs page to find out more.

And the Careers and Employability Service website has details of other opportunities on offer.
