Once you are a student here, there are a number of ways we can help you with finance and funding.
Prizes and awards for research students
The Graduate School offers a number of competitive awards and prizes to fund aspects of a research course.
For example, the Postgraduate Travel Prize can be used to fund a research trip to an overseas conference while the Building Experience and Skills Travel Scholarship can be used to fund a two-month visit to a host organisation.
There are other opportunities too. See the Graduate School website for more information.
Resources in the Careers and Employability Service
The Careers and Employability Service has a number of resources available on overnight loan including books and guides on funding.
The service also has reference materials including the Grants Register and the Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding.
When you are here, you can use these resources to help you find funding for future years of your course.
Additional support funds
The Access to Learning Fund provides financial help for students who find themselves with financial difficulties due to a change in circumstances.
If you pay for essential childcare while you are studying then you could also consider applying to the Childcare Support Scheme.
For further information and application forms, visit the Financial Support website.
