The MSc Statistics with Biomedical Applications offers a modern advanced curriculum in statistics which will enable you to broaden and deepen your understanding of the subject, with a particular focus on applications in biology and medicine.

The programme will provide you with specific techniques and skills suitable for a wide range of careers in statistics and its applications, or as a solid basis for research at the interface of statistics and applied probability with biomedical sciences.

Topics typically include analysis of microarray data, biomedical image analysis and epidemic modelling, as well as those listed for the MSc Statistics.

• This course is informed by the work being carried out in the  Statistics and Probability research group as well as the Centre for Mathematical Medicine and Biology
• The School of Mathematical Sciences is one of the largest and strongest mathematics departments in the UK, with over 50 full-time academic staff
• In the latest independent Research Assessment Exercise, the School ranked 8th in the UK in terms of research power across the three subject areas within the School of Mathematical Sciences (pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and operational research)
