This unique MA programme will introduce you to a variety of contemporary themes in German literature, culture, politics, historiography and linguistics.

It will also provide you with a firm grounding in methodological and theoretical issues at the heart of contemporary German studies, as well as enabling you to develop your own research interests.

• The Department of German Studies at The University of Nottingham is one of the leading centres for research in German Studies in the UK. In 1996 and 2001 it was awarded the highest grade (5*A) by the Higher Education Funding Council for the excellence of its research. In the national Research Assessment Exercise 2008 it was ranked fifth in terms of research power in the UK, with just under 90 per cent of its research output classed as having international quality
