Management in Contemporary China and Emerging Markets Masters (MSc)

Course Content

This course will give you a special focus on management and business issues as they relate to contemporary China.

The modules currently on offer include:

  • Management in China
  • Human Resource Management and Marketing for China
  • Contemporary Chinese Economic Issues
  • Research Design and Practice in China

Please note that all module details are subject to change.

The course will culminate in the completion of a 60-credit dissertation or three-month internship in China, which you will have to support with a 10,000-word report.

Course Structure


The MSc Management in Contemporary China is taught on a full-time basis over one calendar year.

Over the first two semesters, you will be required to take 120 credits’ worth of modules.

The modules you take will link into Nottingham University Business School, as well as courses such as MSc Human Geography and Chinese Studies, and MA Chinese-English Translation, to give you the strongest possible suite of skills and critical insight into the issues affecting contemporary China.

During the summer term, you will be expected to complete a 10,000-15,000 word dissertation (worth 60 credits).

Alternatively, you have the exciting opportunity to complete a three-month internship in China and write a report of 10,000 words to support this.
