International Relations Masters (MA)

Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time

The MA International Relations is a well established and internationally recognised degree that examines new developments in international politics and international relations theory. It is an exciting programme with a high staff concentration and a large array of modules.

Core modules will provide you with a solid grounding in international political analysis. You will also choose from a variety of optional modules which draw upon the research expertise in the school, including conflict, human rights and global governance.

The school has particular expertise in conflict and post-conflict management, humanitarianism and the international political economy.

Entry requirements:2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent)
Other requirements:Mature applicants without standard entry requirements but with substantial and relevant experience may be considered
IELTS:6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
TOEFL IBT:87 with no less than 21 in listening, 22 in reading, 23 in speaking and 21 in writing

Key facts

  • The Research Assessment Exercise 2008 ranked the School of Politics and International Relations in the top 10 in the UK for research power.
  • In the last independent subject level review of teaching, the School was awarded the maximum of 24 out of 24 (Quality Assurance Agency, 2001).
