History Masters (MA)

Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time

This course has a start date in September

The MA History provides an excellent opportunity for those who wish to continue their academic studies beyond the undergraduate level. It is a flexible course which will provide you with an opportunity to develop and expand upon your particular historical interests.

You will be able to create your own programme of study by choosing particular pathways or combinations of modules from inside and outside the School. The pathways currently available reflect the research interests of staff and cover:

  • Medieval History
  • Modern History
  • Gender History
  • British History
  • Warrior Societies
  • Islamic and Middle Eastern History
  • Robin Hood Studies

If you wish, you can opt out of the pathway system in order to develop your own interests.

The course is suitable both for those who wish to further their interests at a level higher than undergraduate and for those who want to supplement their first degree with more detailed study.

Entry requirements:2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent)
Other requirements:Written work is complusory for any non-native English speaker. Applicant will be provided with topics from the school
IELTS:7.0 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
TOEFL IBT:100 with no less than 21 in listening, 22 in reading, 23 in speaking and 21 in writing
