Geography (Sc) Masters (MSc (by Research))

Duration: 2 years part-time

A world leader in research, the School of Geography offers an exciting programme aimed at students who wish to focus primarily on undertaking a research-based masters level qualification. The MSc (by Research) is suitable for students with a science or social science background.

The programme is ideal for students who wish to experience what it is like to do a PhD without the requirement to undertake three years of study. 

Students receive close support and guidance from two academic supervisors within the school who are related to their area of research. Supervisors meet regularly with students, making sure that they are fully involved in the school's leading research community (ranked sixth in the UK for Research Power by the Research Assessment Exercise). For more information on current research themes within the school please see our online research pages.

Entry requirements:2.1 (Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent)
IELTS:6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
TOEFL paper based:573 with 4.5 TWE
TOEFL IBT:88 (no less than 19 in any element)
