Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy)

Duration: 3 years full-time

The Institute offers the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as a professional training course in clinical psychology.

This course is run in collaboration with the University of Lincoln and in partnership with the clinical psychology services of three local NHS Trusts – Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.

The programme leads to the award of a DClinPsy doctoral degree.

The purpose of the course is to train people to become skilled, clinical psychologists, eligible to be registered with the HPC and chartered by the BPS, who are able to work effectively within the NHS. Graduates from the course will be confident in using research methods to answer clinical questions, have organisational and service evaluation skills and be aware of priority groups within the NHS.

Please note: All trainees must pass all components of the programme. There is no provision for the accreditation of prior learning (APL or APEL).

Please note: due to NHS funding arrangements, the programme is not in a position to offer places to non-EU applicants without a work permit.

Any offer of a place on the programme is contingent on satisfactory health and criminal records checks.

Entry requirements:First or 2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent); candidates with a lower second-class honours degree or other equivalent qualification may be considered if they have a postgraduate degree at Masters level or higher
IELTS:7.5 (no less than 7.0 in any element)
TOEFL paper based:630 with 5 TWE
TOEFL IBT:109 with no less than 22 in any element
