This course has a start date in September
The MSc Applied Biomolecular Technology is aimed at science graduates requiring advanced training for careers in important industries such as pharmaceuticals, food/nutrition, healthcare, biomedical and oil.
It is offered by the School of Biosciences in conjunction with the Schools of Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences and Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Biomolecular Technology underpins the production of drug delivery systems, the making of healthier food products, the design of healthcare products, the making of antisera and vaccines – and even the efficient extraction of oil from the harsh environment of a deep well.
The programme is split into distinct but interrelated modules including Drug Delivery, Structural Biology, Antibody Biotechnology, Genomics, Biomolecular Science and Industrial Macromolecules. There is a three-month placement module, which can be taken either in Industry or as part of a University-based Industrial project.
The course is highly popular with both students and industry, and we have dedicated course staff who look after the academic and pastoral welfare of the students.
Course-specific entry requirements
Suitably motivated candidates with Engineering or Mathematics degrees will also be considered.
